How come a crack formed in my grout?

Question:I recently remodeled my bathroom and layed down a new subfloor(plywood) and cement backerboard. The floor seemed level and I put down mortat then the tile.

After I grouted and it dried, a crack formed in one line of grout from one wall to the other wall(aprox 6 ft).

Can I just regrout that line to fill in the crack or is there something else I should do?

Answers:
Something under the tile moved/settled. May have been the underlayment or the backerboard. Do you remember if the backerboard had a seam where the crack has appeared? You can remove the grout and redo it.

The floor might have settled a bit. Try re grouting the line and see what happens.
