Green Pool Water?

Question:Had really green pool water. I treated it and my chemical levels seem to be in normal range now but it still has a green tint to it. I'm not sure waht to do. would shocking it again help?

Answers:
I would check your filter. You might call the city and check if this has been occurring in other pools in your city. We had a big problem with it last year at our aquatic water park. It was just so hot that the water wouldn't take on anymore chemicals. Once water reaches a certain temperature it won't take on any more chlorine. I'm not sure where you live, but this might be the case also. If you call the city and they can't help, then I would try calling your local pool supply store. They can suggest some remedies. The probably will test your water for you, if you bring in a vile. That way they can figure out what's going on in your pool a lot better. Good Luck! I hope it's an easy problem for you to fix.

needs more clorine.
chance are that your filter needs to be changed. if you already shocked it and it's still green... check your filter.

i dont know the name of the stuff you need but is called aqua clear,or something like that ,it'll clear your water, you find it where you buy the rest of your pool chemicals.
OK here is what you do. what ever type of filter you have has to be cleaned or back washed. then add 1 lb of sodium dichlor per 10,000 gallons and run your filter pump 24 hrs a day until your water clears up. if you have a DE filter you need to backwash for as long as you can , until just before you water level gets to low at your skimmer ! the same for a sand filter if you can run your water level as high as you can and backwash as long as you can it helps !
i am sure you know how to,recharge your filter if you have a DE filter. if you have a cartridge filter then you should use mratic acid and water solution to clean the cartridges. be careful of the acid fumes and use rubber gloves. do not pour the acidic water out on your grass .
