What building material should I use on the floor of a balcony that has no roof?

Question:The present floor is plywood and it is exposed to sun and rain-what should I put over the plywood to protect it from the elements and make it stronger. I'd like to do the work myselllf if possible

Answers:
Replace the ply with Compressed Fibrous Cement Sheeting (25mm minimum) then tile it over. The sheets are heavy but fairly easy to cut, and as strong as. Note: you'll need to apply some kind of waterproofing agent ( "Bondcrete" in Australia) before tiling, just to be on the safe side.
And you can do it yourself !

Obviously tiles, which are water and skid proof,do not heat up,basically weatherproof.Certain kinds of stone can be used as well.Explore the many options available.
