Replace your needle, it is probably bent. Make sure that you are using the correct size needle for the item you are sewing. Before you try to sew again, take out the bobbin case and clean out any lint buildup or bits of thread.
If this doesn't solve the problem, take it into a sewing machine shop for a tune up.
First thing replace the needle with a new one. I think you will find its been slightly bent.
If that doesn't work get back to us with more details if you can.
First, replace both the bobbin and the needle. The needle is probably bent and the bobbin case is probably broken. If it still doesn't work and you have a different foot, replace that. If it still doesn't work, ask someone else. That's the extent of my sewing maching knowledge.
Try a new needle. Make sure that you are using the proper size and type of needle for the fabric. Some needles are thicker and sharp for denim or have a ball point for weaves.
Take it slow and don't get frustrated.
First, you need to go back again and change the needle. Make double sure that it is installed properly and make sure that you tighten the screw well. If it is hitting the foot plate or the feed dog then you may have thrown it "out of time"! Depending on where you live that can tend to be an expensive repair. Next you need to remove the bobbin case completely, brush it out well and use a new bobbin in the case. Make sure that you thread it through correctly. DO NOT try and bend the needle post yourself-the machine will be no good then. ALWAYS when you are sewing through a thick piece of fabric, use a heavy duty needle and there is a small notion that you can purchase that will work that "bump" through easier. Also, don't try and oil machine. I don't know whether your machine is new or used, but most of the tweeking and oiling is done at the factory. If none of this works, you will need to seek out a service professional-ALWAYS ask for a reference from them. I have had many a machine ruined by a non-professional. Let me know what happens. OK??
I wholeheartedly agree with changing the needle first. My second thought is the bobbin casing may be broken if you hit it really hard. Third is to clean the machine thoroughly to make sure you have any hidden metal pieces from the needle or bobbin casing cleaned out. When sewing really thick fabrics, go very slowly.
