Shower drain location problem?

Question:My husband and I just moved into a house (from the 70s) and noticed that our downstairs shower was not draining. The problem: the drain is in the center and it is higher than the rest of the basin. (For some reason, it's like on top of a small hill.) So the corners get sogging wet and stay that way. It's kind of disgusting.

Does anyone have ideas on how to solve this problem short of getting a whole new shower tub installed? I have a feeling that won't be cheap.

Answers:
some ideas
- pour epoxy to angle it out properly
- search for "liners" for your model
- add another drain hole at one of the edges
- remove and reinstall the same basin, it maybe installed incorrectly (e.g. underneath of the basin may not be not angled properly thus pushing the middle up -assuming it's a soft basin)
