Answers:
Pine-sol, the household cleaner works very well, puti on the pitch let it set for a few minutes. I use it to clean my hands. I own a pine sawmill.
There are pine and tar removal products available at auto parts stores. But I just use some good old gasoline and quickly clean it up after I'm done. But then again, I don't worship my car.
I've found two products that work well to remove things like road tar and bugs from my vehicle. One of them should work.
First I would try WD-40.yes the spray lubricant that you buy in a can. The combination of lubricant and aerosol solvent make a great cleaning agent. This is my preferred method to clean bug off the bumper and front end of the car.
If that doesn't work look for a type of gun cleaner that has 1,1,1 trichloroethylene. This is a great solvent and dries without residue. It should not damage your paint, but to be sure, try it on a hidden spot on your car..for example under the engine hood or under one of the bumpers.
One of these two should clean most anything off your car.
WD-40 is very good at removing most saps and adhesives.
I've used WD-40.
I also learned NEVER park under a pine tree.... ha ha ha
After using the WD, I washed the vehicle with soapy water to remove the WD residue.
Warm soap and water works best for me. Triclor will definitely remove it along with the paint (from experience). WD40 is also good, followed by a soap and water wash up.
