Kitchen faucet doesn't shut off when pushed all the way down.?

Question:I have a Delta single-handle pull out faucet. (Not sure of model number, but it looks like #472 on their site.) To turn it on, you lift the handle; and to turn it off, push it down. It used to work fine. However, when it's pushed all the way down, it now runs. I have to lift it back up a little bit to stop the water flow.

So, almost all the way down is the off position...instead of all the way down.

Any advice how to fix it? Seems like it would be a small adjustment, but I couldn't find it on their site.

Thanks!

Single handled faucets all have cartridges inside of them. I knoiw Moen guarantees these for life. I'd contact Delta's customer service and try to get a free replacement. ($10-25 in stores.)

Maybe the rubber washer on the inside is worn out or cracked..
definatley time to replace the washer inside the faucet handle. It is either worn, cracked, or has some sediment or debris under it keeping it from sealing all the way when the handle is pushed down. Had the same problem with my kitchen sink. when turning the cold water off it would drip drip drip, then got to where it was a steady stream. Shut water off to sink. Take off faucet handle, unscrew the plastic assembly that has the washers on it, and take the whole thing down to your local harware store and tell em you need another one just like it. They will either have a replacement peice or can at least fit it with new rubber washers.
delta faucets have seats and springs in them that should most likely be replaced. Sounds like they have become worn. If you go to a plumbing store they should be able to give you the parts and most likely a picture of your faucet that shows where the parts are located in your faucet

Hope it helps.
In this case you're lucky it's a Delta. Delta has a "repair kit" that you can buy at any hardware store that will fit almost all of their faucets. It even includes the allen wrench to remove the handle and complete instructions come with the kit. I think the whole kit is only about 4 dollars.
