Is there an adapter or what do I do for a 3 wire dryer plug to go into a 4 wire receptacle?

Question:I purchased a dryer that has a 3 wire, 220 volt plug. I did not realize that 220 had a 3 and a 4 wire plug. The electrician installed a 4 wire recepticle, so now I cannot use the dryer. Is there an adapter I can purchase to convert the 3 wire plug to fit the four wire. What are my options?

Answers:
Your easiest choice is to change the cord. You can do this yourself, so you won't have to pay an electrician again. Good luck!

Simple, all you have to do is buy the corresponding pig tail for the dryer which matches the recepticle.
Yes, Most RV and Marine stores carry adapters that you are looking for
