Do magnets damage refridgerators?
Question:I was told that having magnets on my fridge would cause the motor to over work and burn it out. Is this true?
Answers:
As long as the magnets are on the door. The door is insulated and would have very little effect (if any) on the motor. If it is the type of motor with magnetic brushes it could be effected if you put a powerful magnet on the housing of the motor. But, being as far away as the door. No. Now rubbing the magnets up and down on the door could scratch or rub the door, but that would be the only damage.
No.The only way they can harm your refrigerater is if you throw them at it. Bye, Your funny.
No. It is not true.
Raised 3 boys on one fridge-plenty of things hung on there with no probs.
Hockey pucks on the other hand only inflict superficial damage----boys will be boys and not always choir boys
No magnets on you refridgerator will not harm it. In fact there are magnets in the gasket seal around the door.
What do you think the door seal is made of?
Not mechanically, but severe esthetic damage.
