My Haier Window Air Conditioner Spits Water When Turned On?
Question:The unit sputters and spits cold water from the front vent into my house when turned on. What causes this problem and how can it be fixed?
Answers:
Your condensation water drain hole in the back on the bottom of the A/C unit is plugged. you need to run a tooth pick or small screwdriver up in the hole to clear it and drain the condensation water.
tip it back alittle so it drains outside
Spit back!!
The water is condensate from the humidity in your room.
Like when a glass of ice will "sweat" on the outside.
This water needs to drain out the back bottom of the unit.
The unit needs to be tilted slightly "down Hill " towards the back. This will let the water flow out and into the lawn of "just Outside " !
the water is due to condensation on the bottom of ac ,being blown by condenser fan, what you need to do is drill a small hole in corner making sure you do not damage the coils,so that the water can run down to the outside, vary simple.
Yes, clean out the drain. Sometimes insect build nests and stop it up.
i am having the same problem, and we have tilted it out, called the company, and looked for the drainage holes, but to no avail!!...there doesn't seem to be any!!...aaarrrgghhhh!!
i can hear the puddle forming in there when it's on, and feel the mist of cold water!..help!
Start by tilting slightly outside and/or check drain holes. if that doesnt work try cleaning the coils, it maybe freezing up a little
spit back
