My electricity in my room keeps cutting out when other appliances in house are turned on. Please help!?

Question:When certain appliances in my house are switched on (such as the Dryer, Heat Pump, Kettle, etc), the power in my bedroom cuts out entirely. I can rectify it by flicking the switch on the switchboard (fuse box?) back on. My housemates do not have the same problem (even though my bedroom is at the opposite end of the house to the laundry and kitchen). I believe it may be because these appliances (kitchen, laundry, etc) are on the same circuit, for some reason? But what can I do to fix it? Is it an easy job for an electrician?

Thanks in advance for any help on the matter.

Answers:
is there a lot of wiring connected to one switch in your rooms / house ? buy multi-plug (those 1 row of 3 or 4 plugs switch and the main wire to connect to 1 switch plug at the wall).

i had the same problem ..i know how annoying it can be.call an electrician ..wont cost much.all the best
Your room is on the same circuit as the other devices and it's overloading tripping the breaker. The best thing to do would be to call an electrician and have the circuits balanced better. It's a very simple job.
You're simply overloading the circuit. Move some of the appliances to other receptacles to try and alleviate the problem.
only thing u can do is use these high wattage applances seperately or pay quite alot of cash for an electrician to change consumer board to allow for higher wattage bein used..
It sounds like you need better wiring in your home, is it an older home? If so then you may need to add new electrical wiring lines within the walls. You sound like your over loading your outlets. That could result into a fire with in your walls, be careful!
well the breaker is gone bad , thats what their supposed to do , but just in case have you or any one else done any work on the house , most of the time people change \only if you feel that you can do it should off the power if it is a 15amp breaker stay with a 15AMP DO NOT INCREASE
How many ampre of electricity is supplied to your house. This figure multiplied by the supplied voltage will give you the total watts you can use at a time.every gadget you use have a name plate which indicates the watts required to use it.Add up all watts. If the total watts is more than the supplied watts, you have to ask the power supply company to increase the ampre supply.Otherwise you may go in for a higher ' Load circuit breaker '. You can fix the gadget. Not expensive.
YOu may be oveloading the circuit. This can also be dangerous. Call and electrican and do some testing and repairs. Could burn the house down.
