How do you stop a bed from creaking?
Question:We have a new bed, which is all wood, ie head and base board and wooden slats, and a thick silentnight matteress. But it creakes alot when moving about in it!
Answers:
You can start by tightening anything that is adjustable. Get all the pieces that can be assembled secured as tightly as possible.
Second, apply lubricant to any place where the pieces just slip together. WD 40 works if you don't mind the smell, but a good silicone lube will work also.
Good luck!
stop thumbling about in it then
stop having sex? *grin*
Remember, anything new you gotta ride it in, so just give it a few days, it will get better.
Are the wood slats just laying on the rails?
If so, screw them tight to the rails. It will tighten everything up.
I had to do that to our new bed about 3 years ago.
wd 40 maybe??
how often does it creak? - he he he he!
Try a bit of linsed oil , the wood is dry and will squeak, other than that have sex on the floor , then you will not have to worry about the noise.
Play music when you are in bed to cover the squeaking noise !
Lay still and dream of England
get some Johnnson and Johnson's paste wax and wax the wood and buff it...probably dry wood...if it is the springs, but a new mattress.
Rub candle wax all over the joints and under the slats.
get married.
Get married the creaking will stop.
then lay very very still
