What would be the cause of my frigidaire frigerator no getting real cold in the bottom?
Question:I have a kinda old fridge that is not getting cold at the bottom. What can I do and what is wrong?

make sure on your top shelf you dont have stuff pushed all the way back keeping the cool air from blowing downward, had one that did the same thing and odds are just to much stuff towards the back on the top shelf, also if you have not defrosted it within the last 6 months you may want to try that as well.
The number one reason is that it's a frigidaire (if you read my other posts you'll see how bad I detest this company and their crappy products. LOL!)
Refrigerators cool better if they are full, so if you don't have much in the bottom that could be part of the reason.
Also, I would adjust the temp just below the point where what is on the top shelf in the back will freeze. The coldest air comes into the fridge at the top (as hot air rises, cold air falls), so you need to make sure the air gets to the bottom and that it is cold enough to make the trip.
It may be time to have the freon topped off..
clean the coils at the bottom and make sure the kick panel is allowing enough air to cool the fins from the condenser. a dirty condensing unit will cause cooling problems in the fresh food section of your frig. also make sure that motor under there is working properly , If it turns slowly or is real hot it can cause headaches.If you oil it use some 3in1 or some zoom oil. don't use wd40 it can cause fires in electrical motors.
I am not understanding the question. If its a top freezer model and the fresh food is not getting cold, then the freezer is probably stopped up with ice. If the back panel of the freezer is heavily frosted up, then you have a defrost problem and if not, you can just remove the back panel and defrost it with a hair dryer. http://appliancequickfix.com/ may have some better suggestions if that doesnt work. Before all that, make sure that the freezer control is on a lower setting. If its is adjusted to colder, then it is closing off a little door and robbing the cold from the fresh food side.
