How much should I expect to pay for a new central air conditioner unit for a 1000 sf house?


Question:My husband got an estimate for $1370 for a 10 SEER (which they don't even make any more!) so I am wondering if that is reasonable or if I should keep shopping - I already know that a 10 SEER AC is a bad idea

Look into a Trane. Worth the $, good warranty, thet usually work with decent installers. Don't head to home depot, etc, you'll get ripped off installation / labor charges. Try a more specialized company.

I paid $4000 last summer for my unit. My house if 2500 squ ft.
