Problem with my shower, only pressure with hot water.?
Question:My shower is only putting out hot water if i turn it to cold the water comes out a little but not a lot. keep in mind i have 2 showers and the other one works great. i think its something in the pipe for the cold that is running to the shower because i live in Arizona and we have a lot of "minerals" in the water. if it it just clogged in the pipe maybe from a slow leek or something how can i fix that.

prob replacing the pipes would be the best bet cold water is more likely to get mineral deposites than hot, so i would look into replacing pipes it might just be the one that is conected right to the shower, id do just one at a time and then check it to see if that 1 pipe was where the problem was before you just start redoing them all.
There is most likely a problems with the valves, which are right behind the knob(s) you turn.
Check the brand then see if they have a website. Then you can find your part numbers.
Check your local plumbing store to see if you can order parts.
If yes, you can replace the valve system yourself.
Google search the web for "how-to" articles.
If not, you'll have to hire a plumber to do it all.
Before you goin to extremes like replacing your pipes! lol.listen to this. It sounds like this is the only valve in the house giving you this problem and it also sounds like this is a single handle valve. Am I right so far? If I am then what you need to do is replace the cartridge in the valve. Single handle valves and faucets have cartridges that sometimes get clogged and the only way to repair this is to get a new cartridge. Depending on the brand of valve this is depends on how much the cartridge will be. I, however, would recommend calling a plumber due to the fact that some valves out there are difficult to get apart and and put back together. The plumber more than likely has seen this problems hundreds of time and knows what and how to do it.
