Low water Flow?
Question:Okay, we have found that the pressure tank on our home is functioning fine. The water heater is doing like it should (we have a tankless and is activated by water pressure) Now we have to figure out what is causing the low flow in both the showers and the kitchen sink. All of which do not have enough flow coming through to activate the hot water. But the large garden tub does. (it shares a wall with the incoming pipes and water heater) So how do you find out what is causing the low flow, both shower heads and the kitchen faucet are new this year so it isn't that...been double checked just in case. So how do you find out where in the pipes is the problem? It was functioning proper for 8 months, and then this past weekend is when it started.
Answers:
Make sure your shut off valves to your hot water heater are fully open. Maybe you had some kids playing around the hot water heater and one of them partially closed a valve and now there is not full flow from you hot water heater.
Water restriction in pipe located in attic due to some one or some thing.Could also be mineral deposits.Make sure main water valve is fully open.
because of the water flow
My two thoughts are: 1 build up in the lines or faucets causing low flow or 2 summer demand causing a lower inlet water pressure (so you have less differential pressure when you open the faucet.
The shower head needs to be taken off & cleaned & so does the airrater on the sink. They can get clogged with lime & chunks/bits of rust that comes off the insides of the water pipes.
