How do I open the reel to get new line on it?

Question:I feel stupid for even asking this...How do I get the top off the reel to put new line in it? It's a Shakespeare ball bearing 2001s Synergy steel reel... I thought the top just unscrewed but I guess I'm wrong. I tried spraying it with WD-40 but that didn't work either!! Help PLZ somebody!!

I'm not familiar with that type of reel but most spincast reels have a set screw to keep the cover from coming off accidentally. Look for a screw just below the cover in the midsection of the reel and loosen the screw then turn the cover 1/4 turn counter-clockwise then pull off. If you can't find a set screw then it should just turn about 1/4 turn to unlock then pull off.
