How dangerous is it really to open the back of the TV to repair it?

Question:The F connector where the cable goes, got pushed inside and broke..the only way to fish it out and replace is opening the back of the TV. I would do it, but i don't wanna get electrocuted. The repair shop charges too much to get it done. thanks

A friend of mine tried to fix his own TV once. He unplugged it and then went inside, only to have the s*** knocked out of him!
We later found out the capasitors store a charge for hours and hours. So if it's broke? Just let qualified repair personel do it SAFELY!
Oh BTW after the shocking experience my friend had with his TV, when it shocked him it shorted out most everything and he wound up buying a new set!

If you unplug the TV, you can safely repair it. You can't get electrocuted with no electricity. You will need a soldering iron. And, beware of static!! Make sure you touch something metal before you touch anything to relieve the static electricity.
As long as you unplug the TV, there is no juice going to it and you won't get shocked. Go ahead and do it yourself, you sound like you know what to do, just remember to unplug it.
Be carefull, or you won't have to worry about it. They store up a real punch of electricty inside. You can be a thing of the past very easy. Call the repair person.
I would buy another tv or have the repairman fix it. That is one of those things like adjusting the springs on a garage door. You might have the right tools, but leave it to a professional and keep yourself safe.
discharge the capacitors first and you will be fine
no danger at all the picture tube holds high voltage with no amperage for a period of time with the power off . if you tried removing the suction cup on the picture tube that holds the wire you could get a shock but it will be like a big static electric shock that will scare you more than it will harm you.
