I need to know how much to charge some one , for repairing facia on a home?

Question:There's a two story house on the north side of Houston, that needs a little roof repair and about 30 ft of facia torn out painted and installed back. What should I charge the lady.

Answers:
How good are you? are you a carpenter? if you have to ask the question, you must be a novice.
You can't go in and expect to make top dollar when your just starting out. A "nail pounder" usually gets about ten and hour, if you can read blueprints, about fifteen an hour. If you know what your doing, are experienced and can do a job without instructions, top dollar, whatever the going rate for a good carpenter is out there, say twenty-five an hour.

If you have all the bells and whistles and have been around, forty-five an hour isn't off but, you'd have a helper and get the job done before you start. know what I mean. No wasted time.

I spent 10 years working for a remodeler & he told me that however much the materials cost, you add double that amount for labor. So, if materials cost 100$ you add 200$ for the labor & charge 300$.
The going rate for that kind of thing I think is somewhere around $25 hour. If you have to add material then times that by 2 or so.

Example would be; took you 2-8 hour days plus $200 in material. So 25(2*8) + (2*200)
= $800

If it's a friend or someone you like cut back on the labor cost by about half (would = $600)
i usually charge around 600 a day with myself and a helper for labor only
