Hot water tank (electric)?

Question:This is a extended question from one I asked a couple hours ago.We replaced the elements and thermostat in our hot water tank.It is about 3 yrs old.And still no hot water. We did fill the tank before we turned it on however we did not think to bleed the air out of the lines.Could this of burnt out the elements again? If so do you think both are shot or just maybe the top one?

Answers:
hubby and I just went thru this..you will have to drain it again then get the air out and then fill it back up..plus it takes quite awhile to get the water hot..I think about 2 hours or so...if you still don't have hot water its time to buy a new one...they run just over 200.00. hope this helps

No, it shouldn't burn out the elements. It sounds to me as if the breaker is not working properly. Turn it off all of the way, and turn it back on. Then, wait at least 2 hours before checking for hot water. If it isn't hot, I'd recommend you contact an electrician.
A couple questions:

--How long did you wait before expecting hot water?

--Are you sure you turned the power back on after changing the elemet and the thermostat?

--Are you sure that the replacement parts were compatible with your water heater

--What is the temperature setting on the new thermostat? Is there a reset button on it? is it tripped?

If you allowed the tank to fill back up, i doubt that the air in the lines would have any effect on the elements. Sounds like you have another problem or an oversight in the installation.
