My dryer is making this lous noise and its spinning faster than usual. What can i do to fix this myself?
Question:i've clean the lent tray all the time? maybe its the plugs/outlets? any suggestions would help!
Answers:
the only things that could make it spin faster are...1 something got wrapped around the drive pulley on the motor...2 the motor is shorted and will need to be replaced..if the motor was shorted it would have a different sound to it.it also would not last very long before finally quitting
If you're brave you might unplug it then open the back case. Inspect its workings to see if there are nay screws that are loosened.
If you do tinker, after you unplug ,wait for a while. I don't know anything about electronics really, but I think powerful appliances can hold a charge for a while, so you may want to give them time to discharge all the stored power, and consider whether you want to risk voiding the warranty.
Umm...there shouldn't be any electrical charge lurking inside the dryer once you've unplugged it. I'm at a loss to explain the dryer spinning faster than before...it sounds to me like there must be something seriously wrong with the motor that spins the drum. It will be easy to locate once you have the back removed from the dryer, because it will most likely have a belt from the motor to the drum. Finding the correct replacement part may be challenging, and you will need to contact the manufacturer to make sure you're getting the right one.
If this problem were due to excessive voltage at your outlets, I dare say you would be having problems with other appliances too.
Best of luck!
