Light fixture shorted our entire room... help!?

Question:Apparently, I am a big dummy, I installed a new light fixture in my master bath and when I turned on the light, the entire room went black. I tried turning on and off the lights from the breaker but they are still not working.

What do you recommend?

Answers:
get a flashlight and remove the the fixture that you so carefully installed you have a ground wire shorting. more than likely 1 or 2 or 3 strands loose that are making contact w/ things it should not. redo the install, pay attention to the details

you have a dead short and the breaker will not reset untill you disconnect the new work...try this wear rubber gloves or shoes and work with the power on then the circuit will short when you make a mistake its trail and error but youl;l find your mistake
hire a qualified electrician...it will be cheaper than any damge you could do by yourself
Not only do you have wires shorted at the new light fixture but it also sounds like the contacts on the light switch have been welded together and will need to be replaced it, you should only have 3 wires coming from the electric box, black, white and a bare copper lead, black on black, white on white and the light fixture should have a green which goes to the bare copper wire.
