What causes the bug zapper to stop zapping? can i repair?

The light bulb if it goes out it should not stop it from zapping the only reason the light is there is to draw the bugs into the "charged" screen if it don't zap could be the transformer went out you would have to check that.
May be needs a new bulb. Some places do sell replacements, bring in your old one to match it up. Bye
