Is SALT the best thing to kill weeds?

Question:I have experimented it and it works.
But never put salt on grass.
As grass will never grow on those areas where you put salt.
Only put salt on path or on the edge of the wall or fence and the weeds die and never grow.
Yes its true guys.
Or is there anything better than salt ?

Answers:
I use white vinegar. It's cheap and it doesn't damage the soil. Plus it's not toxic to anything else. It's best to put it on first thing in the morning because the sun is what really helps it to work.

I had a thistle that I could not get rid of, some one told me hot water with a strong solution of bleach, it worked. Don't let pets near though.
I tried soda crystals, works well for me, especially on moss
I once used that ice-melt stuff (the pink and white pellets) and sprayed the top with WD-40. It worked like a charm. Course, I did this in the gravel, where I don't want anything to grow anyway.
The trouble with salt as a weed killer is that poisons the soil and can spread in heavy rain.
Well it's not so surprising, considering a classical 'punishment' in mediaeval-ish times was to 'salt the fields' of your opponents in order that nothing might grow.

But I wouldn't advise it in excess, b/c the salt might accidentally spread to other parts of your garden and terminate your other plants!
Salt is too permanent, and will poison your dirt so that nothing will grow in it. Eventually, though, it will dissolve and spread. A better choice is Roundup:

Like Plumber, I use white vinegar mixed half and half with water.
It drys them up quickly.
It will Also dry your grass out if used liberally but the grass will come back with good watering.

The best thing to get rid of all weeds is Sodium Chlorate.Buy from any good garden centre. You dilute it with water then use your watering can.DO NOT use on your lawn or near flowers etc,it will kill them.If you have weeds in your lawn there is plenty of good lawn weedkillers on the market which will kill the weeds but NOT your grass.
