I think my granite counter top was burned?
Question:My son put a hot pot on the dark uba tuba granite counter top. There appears to be a ring of gold crystals where he put the pot? I thought you could not hurt the top with heat? Can this be repaired?

Most likely you son only damaged the sealer. Granite needs to be sealed 1 or 2 times per year. Just re-seal this general area.
Real granite can't be damaged by cooking level heat. If it's engineered granite, check with the manufacturer for a solution.
