How to fix AC duct pipe when it almost broken?

Question:My AC duct pipe, the coil plastic pipe, wrap around with fibre insulation and outside plastic, is broken. Can I use tape to tape it back and cut away the fibre insulation, then put a new one around it and tape it back together. I search online find the DIY thing, but couldn't.

My duct work is good, it broken becasue when we cut out ceilling drywall, we cut it accidentallly.

Is there are any thing we need to aware?

Thanks.

Answers:
Cut the pipe in two put a short piece of solid pipe inside of the flex pipe and either tape it real good or use long hose clamps or zip ties then tape the insulation back together and give it an airtight seal

I would use the shiny aluminum tape. If possible, I would try to find a round piece of duct that would fit inside it to make it ridgid so it doesn't collapse and gives you something solid to tape to.
The correct way to fix it is to replace it,but you can fix it by cutting the tube flush, in half and using a ''nipple'' to reconnect the two ends together and use clamps (2) to secure the nipple in each end of tube to ensure that you have no leaks.
use the silver coloured duct tape
