Silverfish in my bed?!?

Question:I've had a huge problem with silverfish in the summer for the past... 5 or more years. I hate bugs, they seriously creep me out and it takes me forever to finally be able to get the guts to kill one. The thing is, the silverfish will come into my bed. I bleach my sheets every week. I just bleached them on Wednesday and on Thursday there was a baby silverfish under the pillowcase. I was so disgusted and could barely sleep. I don't know what to do anymore, they only seem to be a problem in my room. I really want to find a natural way to get rid of these nasty things. I would use Raid Roach traps but I'm afraid that it'll attract them to my room, I'm looking for something to just make them stay the hell out. Please help me, I am tired of finding them in my room, let alone in my bed!!

Maybe you need to treat your matress?

You must have lots of moisture in that room for them to stay in there. Perhaps you should buy a de-humidifier?
Silverfish usually come around if there is standing water somewhere, perhaps a plumbing problem. Get your plumbing checked.
The first thing to determine is whether you have silverfish or firebrats.

Silverfish are gray to green in color and prefer temperatures around 80°F while firebrats have a mottled black and white appearance and like it hotter at a toasty 100°F.

see the link for details ... and good luck!
I don`t know about silverfish, but I have used good old Borax to kill entire roach AND ant populations. Apparently, they track it back to the nest where it builds up and kills them.

You just take the powder, put it in a squeeze bottle (ketchup bottle will work fine), and go around the entire perimeter of the room right at the baseboards and lay a thick line of it. You can use a spoon and then push it into the corner as well if you wish.

Provided they are not living in the mattress, I`d think it would take care of them within a week.

So, even though it`s a bit messy for a week or so, it just might do the trick, and you`ve only spent $4.00.

Worth a try, and now you know how to get rid of other bugs if this doesn`t work!

Good Luck... :)
