How do I remove melted wax, from a candle, from a stone fireplace mantel?
Question:A home we recently bought has a great stone fireplace. Unfortunately, the last owners spilled candlewax on the stone mantel. We've tried a ton of different things to try and remove it, from stain removers to scraping. Any success stories out there? Ideas? Please share! Thanks!

If it's on a horizontal surface, you could try melting it off. hold a flame nearby (not close enough to leave black marks) and let the wax drip off as it melts. There's a cleaner they sell called Goo-Gone which might work too.
If it (the stone mantel) is not painted, then get a little propane torch and burn the wax away. Sounds crazy! When my brother and I used to make candles, he'd clean the stove off with the blowtorch! And it worked! If the surface is painted, it will ruin the paint though. Good luck! Live well, do good.
Try using an ice cube, I have heard rhis works, kind of melts on top then you should be able to scrape it off.
You might try using a hair dryer to melt the wax and a white cotton cloth to then soak it up. Good luck, natural stone can be very porous and it may take a couple of tries to get it all up.
Fill a Zip lock bag with ice cubes, close it well and place it on top of the wax. The wax will harden to the point it becomes easier to scrap. When scrapping, use a scrapper with a new blade, so the stone wont get damaged. If by any chance the stone gets a little scratch, spread some baking soda on top and use a soft cloth lightly damped to polish the area.

Try a hair dryer and as it melts suck it off with a shop vac works really well on carpet as well
