Does the door that leads to outside of a kitchen have to be an external one?
Question:
Answers:
No but you wouldn't want anything flimsy now would you - unless you live alone on an island.
Well how else would you leave the room?
Maybe a door into the lounge or hall?
No, I don't think so, mine certainly does'nt
Not sure what you are asking, any door that is on an outside wall, will have to have a secure lock and will have to be weather proof.
Does the door lead to outside the house? Is it sheltered from the weather? Is it wood? Have glass for light? I'd recommend a metal door. Needs less re-finishing over time. And offers more security.
Your question is a little unclear, but if the door leads to outside the building, yes, it should be an exterior rated door no matter what room it connects to, just so it will not warp and rot. Interior doors are not made to withstand the elements.
If the door is just leading from the kitchen to another room, you can have any type of door you want, or even none at all.
I don't know if there are buildings codes where you live Require an exterior door!
Interior doors are only made for "Like the word Interior" indicates! !
They are flimsy, will come apart when in high humidity areas or get railed on. they are held together with glue and staples. A rock or other object slung from a lawn mower will easily penetrate a Interior door.!
i would think so or it a open invite to a thief
External doors are manufactured to withstand the weather, much better made than internal doors, and much more expensive.
Any door leading to the outside should be an exterior door. These are constructed differently than an interior door and as long as it is fully painted it will withstand the weather. Interior doors will buckle after a rain.
If by opening this door leads you outside then yes.
no. my mums kitchen has two doors. one leading to the lounge, and one leading to the hallway. it has been this way since it was built in the 60's, and has never caused a problem (other than the lounge smelling of whatever your cooking).
If the door goes outside the house, I woul think you would want to have a good exterior insulated door. Keeps out intruders & the cold as well.
Yes you need an exterior door, which will be 13/4'' thick as compared to the 13/8" for an interior door. The thicker door will increase security and withstand the vagaries of the weather.
short and simple no
