Help please, i have a mortice lock that will not unlock.?

Question:

Answers:
try slacking the screws that hold the handles on, because sometimes they go through and pinch the lock, if this doesn't work try taking the lock out and take the cover plate off and see if there is an alien object in the lock case.
If the door is shut and you can't open it, it may be that the door has swollen up especially as you say it is a new door, if you can tap the pins out of the hinges you will be able to take the door down and adjust it, if not you will have to drive a thin wedge/chisel just above the lock between frame and door then push/pull door open.
another reason for it not unlocking could be if you have had an extra key cut for the lock and it has not been cleaned up properly.

You need to be a bit clearer for an answer on this. Is the door tight against the frame? Have you just has the key cut?
It could be a loose screw which will create movement where the lock is installed. Try some WD40, first
What brand of lock?
if door is locked shut you could use a hacksaw blade its hard going cutting through it's easier with a grinder
if you can take the lock out you will be able to get a key cut if
you take the whole lock to a shop
get a joiner if you cant manage to drill out lock
