Repair lawnmotorby sears rider?

Question:wont chager batter

Answers:
You don't state the age of the battery. First of all, make sure there is water covering the cells. Remove the caps on the battery and add DISTILLED water to cover the cells. Now try to charge the battery. You may get lucky.

If the battery still won't charge, take it somewhere locally where they sell and install batteries. Ask them to do a load test on the battery. This will tell you if the battery is good or bad. If it is bad, replace it with a like model.

Is your battery ok? Does it have a charge? The lawnmower it's self does not charge the battery except when it's on, it works the same as a car, slowly adding more charge to it. If you battery is dead you'll need to charge it yourself. If you have done that and the battery keeps draining check to see if there is a short somewhere or that the battery is hooked up correctly and there is water in the battery. (open the battery ports to check, but don't splash water when pouring it in, you don't want the battery acid to shoot out).

Tough answer. So many variables to consider. Could be as simple as a bad ground wire, corroded terminal, bad battery, or as complex as replacing the stator windings. This may be one of those times where it needs to be looked at by a professional. Sorry!
Take it to a qualified technician and have the stator output tested.
