Is there any plumbers out there who can help me? Ive been having trouble with my heating system, i have it set
Question:to heat both the radiaters and to heat the water however the rads are only heating and the water is staying stone cold, even when i set the system just to heat the water and for the rads to be off the water is still not heating up. Could anyone give me some advise or do i need to call a plumber ? Thanks

check your motorised valve(s) first, if the manual lever feels "loose" when its calling for hot water then its working, and you have an air lock, if its closed, replace motorised valve, if you have an air lock, on the highest point of pipe work after motorised valve should be a bleed valve. make sure water is coming out of this when you SLIGHTLY unloosen this.
also try turning up your cylinder stat, situated 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of your cylinder.
my gut feeling is the motorized valve, if the programmer is calling for hot water and you can feel resistance on the lever of your motorised valve, pull the lever over and push it into the little notch to stop it springing back, this will give you hot water, untill you can get a heating engineer out.

could be many things. dodgy programmer, stuck motorised valve, broken thermostat, broken emmersion (if there is one)
you will need to call a plumber.
Your central heating and your water are different systems unless you have a combination boiler. Now the most common problem for no hot water is the thermostat not working or it could be the element in your cylinder, probably the latter, hope this helps.
