How do I fix the hole in my wall?
Question:I live inan apartment and I'm about to move out. I have a hole in my wall that's about the diameter of a CD. How do I fix this? I know nothing about home repair stuff, but I don't want to get charged for this.
Answers:
go to your local hardware store, and tell them you want an adhesive patch, and the reason for it, they will know what it is. You will also need some joint compound. After you stick on the patch, you will have to lightly apply the compound, letting it dry between coats. Get it as smooth as possible. After that it is just a matter of sponging smooth, and finally painting.
go to home improvement store, buy a patch kit,a hole that size is not going to be easy to repair, but they do make repair kits for them
if there is a home depot near you go and ask them if you can buy a cut out piece of sheetrock.say 1ft,x1ft,get some mesh tape for sheetrock and a very small can of joint compound and a plastic spatula.they should be able to tell you how to fix it.if not ,then ask another question and i'll find it and go step by step with you to get it fixed.
put a nice, big picture over it. nobody will notice
Be very careful trying to do this as you could easily cost yourself more than you will be charged now. This is not an easy repair for an inexperienced person to get by a professional (the manager has seen this before many times) and a sloppy job will get you a bigger charge not a smaller one. If you have a friend with construction experience, you might ask them for help or a referral to someone with drywall experience. Then you can probably get out of it with a 6-pack of beer for the repair. If you absolutely insist on repairing it yourself, there is one way to get away with covering it up like the guy above me suggests, that way is, if it just happens to be a good place to put a full length mirror, they can be had for cheap at K-mart or Target, and the manager will usually leave them up if they are in a logical place.
