I don't know how to fix the leg to my couch it wont screw back in and I don't think glue would work.?
Question:The area where the leg would screw back in is bent out of shape. So when I put the leg to the couch back in it just falls out again. What should I do??
Answers:
If it is a metal plate attached to the bottom of the couch, you can buy a replacement at any upholstery shop just by taking the old one in to show them and they will get you a match. If it is screwing directly into the structure of the couch you have to turn the couch up side down, drill out the hole, fill it with a heavy duty glue like E-6000 that is thick, insert the leg, level it, use duct tape to secure it while it dries and hardens.
liquid nail, or PL next to the liquid nail, PL is real strong.
go buy some 2 1/2 inch finish nails and toe-nail them in
If feesible - remove the other legs and see what and how the couch is like then...just a thought
Use a brick to hold up that end of the couch...
You could try using gorilla glue, it does a great job on almost everything. Or you could buy a Molly screw, that will help, check it out at home depot or your hardware store.
There are several ways to fix it. One would be to drive a heavy duty wood screw in from the back side of the leg angling up into the bottom of the couch. Another would be to by Seal-Tite Thread sealer. With this you just squirk some into the threaded hole, screw the leg on and let it sit. It would be best to do it before bedtime so it can sit overnight before turning the couch right side up.
reinforce the area around where the leg would go to box the leg in. do all of the legs if have to.
JB Weld!fix anything!! liquid steel!
