What is wrong with my Nordyne Air Conditioner ?
Question:I have changed the circuit board and now the thermostat. The unit will run and blow cold IF you controll it from the circuit board itself. You have to turn it on, let it run and awhile and then switch it back to off. I have three kids in the house and it is getting up to almost 90 at night. It is not responding to a thermostat at all. The thermostat just sits (ok hangs there) and clicks.
The circuit board is a Nordyne 624-5670. Is the wiring wrong on it ?
Please help !
Answers:
If it is working ok from the circuit board then the thermostat is miswired. Look over all your diagrams carefully and make sure everything looks right.
If the thermostat is clicking it is most likely working.
The Nordyne, like Samsung mini-splits use a DC signal to start and control the compressor. If the board doesnt rectify the AC current coming in then there is probably another rectifier. Perhaps this is the culprit. The problem with many electrical problems is, if the technician isnt there with a meter, it's hard to diagnose.
