My den floods during heavy rain. It's a converted garage. How do I fix it?

Question:I bought a house that already had the garage converted into a den. Only in this den, on one side, water runs down the driveway, and slowly seeps through the wall during heavy rain. Please give me some ideas on the least expensive way to fix this? I could raise and slope the concrete drive way, but that would be very expensive. What about concrete siding? Is it waterproof? The home is located in Fulton, Ms.

Answers:
Pour a concrete barrier at the end of the driveway closest to the house.kinda like the ones in parking lots. Make sure the side of the house is graded so the water will drain away from the house.

Or install a french drain

Dig a ditch where the water comes in, and put drain tile down so it gets diverted from the house. ~
I've seen it done...Try talking to some people at Home Depot or Lowes. they'll know how to do it, and an inexpensive way
Sounds like your going digging you have to keep the water away from the house. One idea is a french drain which is a small trench with gravel at bottom with a layer of matting around a plastic drain pipe then covered with gravel to leach the water away from the house to a lower spot if you have one in the yard.
