Probably about 8 years.I was close : )
Refrigerator: 18 to 20 years
Microwave oven: 10 years

Oven/stove (gas): 18 to 20 years
Dishwasher: 10 years
Trash compactor: 10 years

Well ours is almost 20 years old and we haven't even looked after it that well. Still works great, no reason to spring for a new one. Not sure what the average is...I think most people do go for an upgrade at least for asthetic purposes.
weve had ours for about 6 years and weve been treating it like crap and its still good
7-10 years..
Actually you are talking about an electrical gadget, if it works it will work for years and years and if it doesn't then 1 days is more than enough. Second it also depends on ur maintenance, if you taken proper care like clean it after every use, switch of at night, use lid when in use, etc , it will help you in increase in life.

Enjoy..
We used the same one for 15 years before finally getting rid of it. It worked fine, we just wanted some of the newer features.
Ours is (was) 21 years old, until my daughter burned popcorn in it. Still worked but could not get rid of smell.
Honestly each item has its warranty, so it tells you how many years, and if it goes beyond that point its at your own risk
I don't know the answer to that - yet. When Litton Industries Built a manufacturing plnat in Sioux Falls, SD in the late 1970's I bought the biggest commercial oven they made at the time - which they sold to schools mostly, I remember It came with a full compliment of their Litton wear microwave cookware - which I still have as well as the oven.

The first thing we cooked in the oven was a 22 lb turkey, from frozen solid to perfectly done with a golden brown crunchy skin - and juciy as a grapefruit in 4 hours I think it was. We still have that oven, up at the lake house, and it still cooks like a champ, and it;s still the biggest microwave I've ever seen. I believe I bought that thing in 1980 for $ 500.00, so it's been 27 years and still going strong.
We've had ours for almost 10 years. The front of the door is cracked and it got dropped when we moved, but it still works perfectly. The button that opens the door has started sticking so we might get a new one soon...
