I have a frigidaire washer and dryer and it runs but the washer does not spin, why is this?
Question:it was working then we moved it to do some work now we put it back and it doesnt spin??anyone know? i tried looking on site but we'll have to call someone. i was just wondering if anyone knew what it was so i could fix the problem myself and just buy whatever part is broken..

check the belt to make sure its still lined correctly on the tub pulleys and motor...use caution.and after that use a 3 or 4 feet level across the top of the washer to see if its out of level.unplug washer before checking the belt .
You'll note that I am not a repairman during this explanation so perhaps someone that really knows what they are doing will answer. Two things come immediately to mind. One the switch dealie that you dial for different washes can be bad or should washers still have pulley things for spin-they can break or come loose. You can rule out the second problem by turning your dial to a different wash and turn on the spin there. If it spins there, it is the first thing. You can look in the papers that came with your washer for trouble shooting ideas and if you don't know where they are you can probably look up Frigidaire on line and they may have manuals. Other than my limited knowledge of washers, I suggest a repairman and not waste the time. Lots of luck.

Check the lid switch. A washer won't spin if the lid is open. There is a switch that the closed lid activates to allow spin. Perhaps the piece on the lid that contacts the switch got broken, or maybe a wire to the switch became disconnected when the washer was moved.
