How much does it cost to repair a leaky skylight and the damage the leak has caused?

Question:My husband and I just bought a house and there's a skylight in the kitchen that is leaking. It is obvious from just looking at it that the skylight has been leaking for some time; it's already caused obvious damage to the ceiling.

How much will it cost (including parts and labor) to (a) replace the skylight, to (b) repair the roof, if it needs repaired, and to (c) repair the ceiling?

Answers:
call a roofer and then a painter, get several bids, you dont have to take the Highest but never take the lowest good luck from Texas

probably about 1000 dollars. Have them remove the sky light this way you dont have the problem again. They are notorious for leaking.
