How much does it cost to replace pieces of vinyl siding?
Question:We've got several holes in several different pieces of our vinyl siding, including one hole in an end piece that fits over the edge of the house. How much will it cost to repair the damage to this siding? (The siding we have is approximately four years old, so I don't think that finding a match will be difficult.)
I have heard that you can just pull off the bad pieces of siding and replace that with new siding... I just need a ballpark estimate as to what parts and labor are going to cost me.
Thanks for your help!

It's relatively easy to do, so the charge should not be enormous. Vinyl siding can be 'unhooked' from course to course with a small 'zipper tool', and hooked back up the same way. Replacing that corner piece entails more work, since each course slides into the channel from each side of the house. However, they may be able to cut the channels off the corner piece and simply slip the remaining cover over the existing corner.
Your bigger problem will be the match, believe it or not. Vinyl siding DOES fade. You don't notice it on your house because the fade is equal on all pieces. However, when you insert new pieces, you most probably WILL see a difference, and sometimes it is significant.
Good luck.
