Septic Tank Potential Problem?
Question:A 1' wide frame of unusally thick grass surrounds our septic tank, but the area just above the tank is dead grass or basically dirt & a few crab grass weeds!. Does anyone know what it really means?? Thanks Much!!

The layer of dirt on top of the tank is not very thick and does not have much capacity to hold moisture. It will tend to dry out first.
The area around the tank benefits from moisture that wicks through the tank. The concrete tanks are not sealed. They should not allow the water to run out, but if you were to uncover your tank you would find the sides to be damp. Perfectly normal.
sounds good! maybe top was dug to pump tank.to avoid problems pump tank no more than 5 years apart.depends on ur household load.
