What stops hot water from flowing from faucet in bath room sink?

Question:the cold water flows normal, but the hot only trickles

Answers:
usually the culprit of this is the hot water knob not being turned on. That does it everytime in all my faucets.

Something stuck in the screen at faucet end so take it off and clean it out! It unscrews!
Could also be a washer that is falling apart and blocking the flow
Often there is a valve under the sink, Maybe you could try to turn it on. That would be easiest, but otherwise you are stuck, because you live in an ancient building where the hot water pipes are nearly closed off with calcium buildup.
I just answered your other question but i was thinking that you were trying to turn it off.

sometimes water has deposits (like rocks) in the water and get suck and stop the water flow.

you can unscrew the cap/screen from were the water comes out from the faucet and you may see some deposits.

this may help... Good luck...
you might want to check to see if all water valves to that faucet are open enough to give the right pressure ( hot side) because if you had a clogged screen in the spout then I would think that both sides would not have pressure.
