How to remove the burnt oil type that sticks to the side of pots?

Question:

Answers:
a brillo pad and hot water usually works for me.

make bicarb into a paste and rub it on using balled up tin foil
Washing up liquid, wire wool and lots of elbow grease.
1. Washing up liquid and a wire wool pad
2. Cream cleaner and a wire wool pad
3. If all else fails, but you must wash the pan very thoroughly after, (preferably in a dish-washer!) paint stripper.
Wrap in a plastic bag, and leave in your freezer over night. Then wash in very hot water and washing up liquid as usual. Repeat as necessary, two times should do it though.
If the pot isn't bothered by ammonia-- place the pot/s in a black plastic bag-- pour at least a cup of ammonia in the bag, close the bag tightly and place in the sun-- the hotter the better. Check the next day to see if the black burnt stuff will scrape off-- if not-- back into the sun. You might add more ammonia.
good luck
