While the shower is on, there is a leak in the basement. who do i call?

Question:A few days ago, my mom said,
"every time we take showers at the house, we have a flood in the basement; who do I contact?"

Who do "I" (mom doesn't speak English) call for this leaking-something-or-other (maybe pipe?)?

Do I contact RotoRooter? They came once before to fix our shower-head problem. It is now perfect!

Answers:
Call a plumber, rotor rooter just cleans drains.

a plumer
Call the plumber who did the water supply and drainage layout.
any old plummer
I would say a plumber
call a plumber like roto rooter or your landlord if you rent.
Souns like a drain pipe is leaking. Usually a plumber.
Call the people that live in the basement and tell them to keep there umbrellas handy.Seriously if the shower drain is actually leaking you should call a plumber. If a drain is over flowing call Roto-Rooter. Why don't you turn on the shower and go to the basement and see what you can see?
u should call a plumber
a PLUMBER!!!!

he's (or she, who knows?) the one who knows how to adjust pipes.
Gee maybe the bank, no the grocery store, no the post office, ohhhh wait maybe a plumber.
There is a strong posibility you have a leak...question is where. In most houses there is a large black pipe running down into the basement floor. This is where the water from all the sinks, showers and toilets drain off from the house out to the city's sewage. Check there and along the pipe to see if there is a leak there.

When running the shower, see if you can see where the water is leaking from, i.e., check in the basement where the water is pooling...is it coming down a wall or from the bottom of the wall. It may be from the water pipes going up to the bathroom or it could also be when the tub is draining. Fill the tub full of water with the stopper in place and check if you have water in the basement, if not then drain the tub and check again. If no water accumulates in the basement with this simple test then I fear that the water is getting behind the tiles that surround the tub, or if it's an enclosure type unit then the water is flowing behind it. The other problem may be that the pipe that runs up to the shower-head from the faucette is leaking and then the problem is behind your wall.

Best to get a general contractor to have a look. Maybe a plumber can assist however before you can do anything, you have to find the source of the leak..

Did the problem start shortly after you had RotoRooter fix the shower head? Maybe the leak is somewhere there and they caused it when they were fixing the one problem.

Please note that water damage can be extensive if you do not address it right away. If it's leaking through the tiling or a tub enclosure you will need the general contractor for that type of task.
