My breeze box doesn't want to start unless I hand start it. How can I fix it?

Question:My breeze box fan is several years old. It won't start unless I hand start it (with a long pencil stuck between the grille and I push the blades until it starts to turn). What can I do?

Answers:
Sounds like your motor is going out. It runs fine however it is to weak to start itself. Yep bad motor

If you can take the grille off the fan side and remove the fan blade (try pulling straight off), work some light household oil (sewing machine oil) into the bearing on the fan side. You may have to remove a few screws to get at the back side, but do the same to that bearing. If you can see the bearing but can't quite reach it, take a piece of wire (straightened paper clip) and hold one end where you want the oil. Then put a drop on and let it slide down the wire to the bearing. It's a lot easier than taking out more screws.
