What is the best brand of cordless drill? Black & Decker owns a number of them.?
Question:
Answers:
14 volts minimum..Dewalt is made by B & D..not too many people know that..Dewalt is the high end stuff..metal gears ETC. I personally own a Dewalt XRP (14.4 volts) No disappointments. Makita and Mlwaukee are safe bets too. Higher the voltage the better thedrill..bank on it
I'd stay away from B&D, SKIL, and the like - kids stuff.
I love my Rigid. Lots of torque, 20 minute charges, and the best warranty you'll find.
Black and Decker
Sears also
Have had both. Both are good quality for the price for the average do it yourselfer.
Makita and Milwaukee are the best ones I have used. The Makita's are a bit lighter and have more features for the price, but the Milwaukee's are bulletproof. Dewalt is a good value. B&D are pretty far down my list.
If you are going to use it just as an occasional power tool you can get by with any of the popular brands. If you are seriously going to do work with it you need a more expensive commercial grade tool like Rigid or Milwaukee.
Look to see what contractors are using in your area - those are the brands that will last for heavy use.
B&D
get what fits your hands and the jobs you'll do with it.. ryobi has lasted about 4yrs heavy work but the batts crap out at 2yrs like clock work. yes dewalt is B&D and is better than ryobi but doesnt beat in in cost, i loved my makita kicked my ryobi's ace. if you want the lifetime warranty then its ridgid. but man are the 18v some heavy drills.. using one of these all day will make you popeye.
Dewalt has always worked good for me, if your doing any real work go with the 18 volt. If you just do occasional work or want an inexpensive drill that works well, go for Ryobi, I've had several and can't complain about the value.
Makita hands down.
black and decker or Makita.
Black and Decker and Makita are pretty much crap. I use my cordless DeWalt every day for the last three years..Milwaukee and Ridgid are also VERY good brands!
Milwaukee hands down is the most reliable cordless tool I have ever used. I install fire sprinkler systems so my tools get used and sometimes abused but they keep coming back for more. I have the 18V combo kit which includes the drill/hammer drill, Sawzall, circular saw, flashlight, charger and two batteries.
Milwaukee or Bosch.
