Air conditioning doesnt work as well on one end of apartment?
Question:I live in an apt in daytona beach its in the 90's here. It is only 500ish square feet one bedroom apartment yet it gets nice and cold in the living room but not in the bedroom. the vent in the bedroom blows out cold air just not as much as in the living room. I dont want to go to the office to have it maintenced as they will probley say it works fine. Is there any way i can make it colder in my bedroom?

It sounds to me like the vent at the bedroom may be the farthest from where the blower is located, or it could be that the bedroom, being a large space with only one vent, is just not getting enough airflow. It is also possible that you have not considered which direction your bedroom faces. If the bedroom wall is located on the west or south part of the structure it is a matter of "heat gain" from the exterior environment. People that live in houses also have the same problems. The temperature from room to room can vary as much as 5-8 degrees or more depending on the time of day, direction of the sun, and outside weather conditions. One thing to remember is that the temperature you read at the thermostat only tells you the temperature AT THE THERMOSTAT and no other point in the house. The apartment owner is not responsible, nor required to make any repairs to a system that is "fully operational". I would suggest you by a fan to move more air towards the bedroom or get a small window unit, especially if it is "ALL BILLS PAID".
collapsed duct probably, we had that problem in our apartment and we live in texas (very hot here, near 100's now) have the complex check the duct work and you may be getting the evening sun as well if there is no shade there on that end.
go to the office/maintenance is what they are there for
shut down some of the dampers in the living room, either the floor ones or if your system has them in the supply runs of the duct system. all the air is being forced out, before it gets to the end run of your supply run to the bedroom. therefore resulting in no cfm's of air in your bedroom
yes you have two-three options here.
first- adjsut the living room register/vent, this will cause backpressure allowing more airflow into the bedroom.
second- climb into the attic part of the apt or check outside. there is a vent damper, this controls the airflow distribution to each room. a simple wing nut and turn up or down will adjust air distribution to the rooms. dont forget to tighten the wingnut back down. or you may loose all airflow.
third- call the front office. as a service they will need to accomidate your needs. do this when it most warm/hot so they may see the symptom.
as a note please check your air filters too. not only will this restrict the allowed airflow, but increase you power bill.
