Does pouring coffee grounds down the sink really keep the drain clean?

Question:

Answers:
No, it doesn't. In fact, it can cause a really bad clog.

Yes, it does.
I have no Idea but these are great for plants.also add egg shells which have been soaked in water for a few days..
I have heard this for years, and have been doing it for years! Have had no problems!
I would not recommend it, especially if it gets gunked up w/ grease, it would certainly be a clog. If you want a natural drain cleaner, pour 1/2 c. baking soda into your drain. Follow this with 1/2 c. white vinegar. The baking soda is base and the vinegar is acidic, so they will react with a churning action that will help keep the drain clean without dangerous chemicals.
no but if they were to take on too much water and expand they would create a clog where they lie, in the trap.
It's kind of like washing your clothes before they get dirty .. thinking it will prevent them from getting dirty.
How can they prevent a clog if there is no clog they are going to just go for the ride through the pipe out to the sewage - they did nothing other than swoosh through the pipe. Unless, like I said, they are settled at the trap - then they may lead to a clog.
