What should I do with this recliner?!?

Question:Okay, this is the LAST day I have to move out at my place. I moved out from 3rd floor apt. to another 3 floor apt., so as you can imagine, it was an excruciating pain--especially without help from friends. I maged to move everything--except for a recliner. There is no way for me to lift it on my own, so I'm trying to get rid of it within 12 hours.

Anyone have any ideas or know how I can get rid of this thing?

Answers:
Also, look at the condition of the recliner.
If it shows little or no signs of wear/tear, you can offer it to Goodwill or Salvation Army and ask for a pick-up. You could also look in the phone book for other local charities.
If they can schedule for a pick-up, 2 big guys will drop by and lift if off for you.

Also check with the information center if you can put up a "free recliner" flier around the complex.

tip it up and "walk" it, don't lift it. if you just don't want it, ask neighbors if they want it, post a note in the laundry room. Join FreeCycle real quick and post it free, someone will come get it. go to FreeCycle.org and type in your city.
Ask one of the other tenats if they would like to have it. tell them they have to get it Today!!
if it is a descent recliner, the back will come off of it, where the back is attached there are two buttons, push them in, and pull the back off, this way it will be in two pieces, then it should not be that bad. Or leave it for the next occupants.
First ask your landlord if he/she wants it or know anyone who might want it, they usually know how to get rid of those things.

Post a memo on your apartments memo area where everyone can see it. Usually someone with-in the apartment would want it. This way it saves you the hassle of moving it.

If you have 12 hours you don't have lot of time left to make arrangements with donation centers and other media.

You best bet might be with-in the apartment if. If all else fails you just gotta try to get the landlord to move it by having the remodeling crew move it out. Someone always comes in to make your apartment look "new", after you leave.

I don't think it will be too much of a difficulty, cause the apartment manager knows that your a girl and moved all that stuff by yourself.
If you don't want the recliner - go to groups.yahoo.com and look for a freecycle group in your area ... you can give away stuff within minutes usually. Also - its good for getting stuff too ;-)
