Rinse aid dispenser clogged on dishwasher?
Question:I just moved into a house that has a dishwasher. When I went to put jet dry in the rinse aid dispenser it was clogged and nothing will drain down into it, it looks to be as if the old tenats put the powder washing powder in this dispenser. I have used the jet dry baskets but prefer to use the dispenser. Any one have any advice on how I might be able to unclogg this? I have used white vinager in it but no luck. HELP...

That dispenser does not have large enough openings for you or I to clean it.If I were to try I would remove it which involves taking the door apart(dont).Or try leaving the cap off while it washes it may eventually clear. It can be replaced.Maytag has a recall on some of there dispensers and G.E. may as well. If your model is recalled you can have it fixed for free.
The rinse aid dispenser was banned on many older dishwashers because of a fire hazard. Look for the make, model number and serial number. a local dealer can tell you
As far as the dispenser, try using bleach, not too much, 1/2 cup and run with out dish washing soap. it should work.
it sounds like you might have to replace detergent cup, they usually have a lever and a spring, hard water also affects them.open the inside panel where the dispenser is at and you will have a visual of the dispenser.
